reagents have been evaluated for trapping carbon radicals formed from aminium cation radical cyclizations. Rapid “self-trapping” of these radicals by their PTOC carbamate precursors requires highly reactive trapping agents. Synthetically useful trapping reagents include t-BuSH, CBr4, phenyl vinyl sulfone and Ph2Se2in addition to the PTOC carbamate radical precursors.
