important quinoxaline derivatives were efficiently synthesized in excellent yields by the reaction of 1,2-diketones and 2-nitroaniline, benzofuroxan or 1,2-dinitrobenzene promoted by SnCl22H2O. The role of stannous chloride is acting as both reductive agent and catalyst in this synthesis.
