The photoreaction of Cp*Mo(CO)3Me in the presence of BH3·P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2 produced the phosphite−boryl Mo complex Cp*Mo(CO)3BH2·P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2}. The complex reacts with MeI and PMe3 with Mo−B and B−P bond cleavage, respectively, and is gradually converted in solution into Cp*Mo(CO)2(H)P(OMe)(NMeCH2)2} with B−H bond cleavage.
