Disclosed is an active ray curable composition which is excellent in ejectability by an inkjet system and can be cured with high sensitivity. This active ray curable composition enables to form a coating film having high image quality and high film strength under various printing conditions. Also disclosed are an inkjet ink using such an active ray curable composition, an image forming method and an inkjet recording apparatus. Specifically disclosed is an active ray curable composition containing a photopolymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator. This active ray curable composition is characterized in that the photopolymerizable compound is a cationically polymerizable compound, and the composition contains a terminally polyether-modified silicone surface active agent.

Disclosed is an inkjet recording method wherein an image is formed on a recording medium by spraying an ink containing at least a photopolymerizable compound onto the recording medium through a nozzle of an inkjet head. This inkjet recording method enables to perform a stable image recording by suppressing formation of a precipitate in the head. This inkjet recording method is characterized in that in an inkjet head, which is used for forming an image on a recording medium by spraying an inkjet ink containing at least a photopolymerizable compound through a nozzle, the surface of at least a part of metals constituting the internal member of the inkjet head which is in contact with the inkjet ink is subjected to a passivation treatment or an insulation coating treatment.
An ink-jet recording method and device whereby plural colours of inks are ejected onto a recording medium and cured by irradiating UV light onto the ink wherein uncured ink quantity on the substrate at the time of UV ray irradiation is limited to result in ultraviolet transmittance of at least 0.1% at the absorption peak wavelength of a photopolymerization initiator contained in the ink.
