  Novel thiadiazole compounds are taught and disclosed having the following general structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a halogenated C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 acyclic hydrocarbon radical, wherein the halogen is fluorine, chlorine and/or bromine, R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 acyclic hydrocarbon radical, and R.sub.3 is hydrogen, a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 acyclic hydrocarbon radical, a halogenated C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 acyclic hydrocarbon radical or cycloalkyl. The compounds show particular utility as agricultural pesticides and, most favorably, as herbicides.
