(/minus/)-1-R-2,7,8-trioxabicyclo(3.2.1)octanes (R = H, 1; R = Me, 2; R = Ph, 3) in high enantiomeric purity. The crystal and molecular structure of (/minus/)-3 was determined by X-ray means. A crystal of (/minus/)-3 grown from Et/sub 2/O-n-C/sub 6/H/sup 14/ belonged to the space group P2/sub 1/ having cell constants a = 7.8520 (9), b = 10.493 (1), and c = 6.1048 (6) /Angstrom/ and ..beta.. = 107.02 (1)/degrees/
