consists of ortho- and/or para-conjugated unsubstituted phenyl groups, X represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, Y represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, and n is an integer greater than 3. A charge transport layer is prepared by molecularly dispersing or dissolving the aryldiamine charge transporting molecule in a polymeric binder.
