  Esters of the formulae and their agriculturally suitable salts, where R is CO2CH3 or CO2C2H5; R, is H, Cl or CF3; R2 is C1-C3 alkoxy, amino or substituted amino; are useful to mitigate damage to crops caused by sulfonylurea herbicides. The compounds may be applied in various ways, e.g. in admixture with the herbicide or as a dressing on the crop seed. The novel compounds may be made by reacting the appropriate benzenesulfonyl orthiophenesulfonyl isocyanate with an appropriate amine or alcohol.
