  [EN] The present invention is for a process for preparing monoacetals of hydroquinone wherein said process provides for higher yields of greater purity. Said process utilizes a two-step reaction wherein a protected hydroquinone is reacted with an enol ether to form a protected intermediate. Upon hydrogenolysis of said intermediate, a final product, monoacetal hydroquinone, is formed having higher degree of purity and in greater yields than the yields attributed to reactions known in the art.

Ledit procédé utilise une réaction en deux temps au cours de laquelle une hydroquinone protégée est mise en réaction avec un éther d'énol pour constituer un intermédiaire protégé.
