  An internal release agent includes at least one phosphodiester represented by the following general formula (1). In the formula, R1 and R2 independently represent a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 30 carbon atoms, which is optionally substituted with at least one hydroxyl group, and R3 represents an alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. A plurality of R3's may be the same as or different from each other. M represents a hydrogen atom, an ammonium ion, an alkali metal ion, or a monovalent/divalent alkali earth metal ion, and n is an integer of 1 to 60.

  A photochromic composition comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of a compound having at least one epoxy group in the molecule and (B) 0.0001 to 10,000 parts by weight of a photochromic compound. The compound (A) is of formula wherein A is a residue of an n-valent alcoholic hydroxyl-containing compound, a residue of an n-valent phenolic-hydroxyl-containing compound, or a residue of an n-valent carboxylic acid, R1 is hydrogen or methyl and n is an integer of 1 to 4. The photochromic compounds (B) include fulgide compounds, spirooxazine compounds and chromene compounds. A polymer obtained by polymerizing the above photochromic composition of the invention by a radical polymerization method has a good durability of photochromic properties, and also possesses a dark color-forming density, a fast color fading speed, is transparent, and has a high surface hardness. Thus, especially, the polymer is suitable for use as a photochromic lens.

  A process for producing a photochromic cured product by allowing an unpurified, impurities-containing polyfunctional (meth)acrylate monomer such as unpurified polyalkylene glycol dimethacrylate and a photochromic spirooxazine compound to contain a compound having at least one epoxy group in the molecule such as glycidyl methacrylate and then polymerizing the resulting composition.
