  (EN) A composition for dyeing keratinous fibres is characterized in that it includes, in a suitable dyeing medium, at least an oxidation dye precursor of the ortho and/or para type, and at least one coupler of formula (I) in which R is hydrogen, C1-C4 lower alkyl, C1-C6 monohydroxyalkyl, C2-C6 polyhydroxyalkyl, or alkylcarbonyl where the alkyl groups have one to four carbon atoms, or their acid addition salts. A method of dyeing hair using said composition, certain novel meta-aminophenols, and the use of the latter as couplers, are also disclosed.(FR) La présente invention concerne une composition pour la teinture des fibres kératiniques, caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte, dans un milieu approprié pour la teinture, au moins un précurseur de colorant d'oxydation du type ortho et/ou para, et au moins un coupleur de formule (I), dans laquelle R représente hydrogène, alkyle inférieur en C1-C4, monohydroxyalkyle en C1-C6; polyhydroxyalkyle en C2-C6; ou alkylcarbonyle où les groupes alkyle comportent de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone; ou leurs sels d'addition avec un acide; et un procédé de teinture des cheveux la mettant en ÷uvre. Elle concerne également certains méta-aminophénols nouveaux et leur utilisation en tant que coupleurs.
