Various 2-amino-4H-chromen-4-yl phosphonate derivatives were synthesized in good yields by condensation of salicylaldehyde, malononitrile or ethylcyanoacetate, and triethyl phosphite using beta-cyclodextrin as a reusable catalyst under neutral conditions, in water.
