  The reaction of [V(NS3)O] [NS3 = N(CH2CH2S)3] with methylhydrazine gives the hydrazido(1−) vanadium(IV) complex [V(NS3)(NMeNH2)] 1, but reaction with various other compounds containing N–N groups results in formation of compounds containing substituted hydrazido(2−) ligands. Structures of 1, [V(NS3)(NNC5H10)] 2 and [V(NS3)(NNCPh2)] 3 are described.

  Vanadium(III) and vanadium(V) complexes of the tris(2-thiolatoethyl)amine ligand L 3- containing hydrazine, hydrazide, imide, ammine, cyanide and isocyanide ligands are synthesised; the complexes [V(NH 3 )L] and [V(NNMe 2 )L] have been structurally characterised.
