    This invention provides a rubber composition highly balancing flexibility at a low temperature and a low rolling resistance, which is formed by compounding a low-molecular weight conjugated diene-based polymer (B) having at least one functional group, an aromatic vinyl compound content of less than 5% by mass and a weight average molecular weight as measured without terminating by modification through a gel permeation chromatography and converted to polystyrene of not less than 2,000 but less than 150,000 and a filler (C) into a high-molecular weight rubber component (A) having a weight average molecular weight as measured without terminating by modification through a gel permeation chromatography and converted to polystyrene of not less than 150,000.

    The present invention relates to a rubber composition which makes it possible to achieve both of a riding comfort during normal running and durability during run flat running in a run flat tire. The rubber composition is a rubber composition containing a rubber component, a filler, a vulcanizing agent, and a vulcanization accelerator, wherein the rubber component contains 50% by mass or more of a modified conjugated diene-based rubber; the filler contains a carbon black; and the vulcanization accelerator contains a thiuram-based vulcanization accelerator, the carbon black being contained in an amount of 40 to 60 parts by mass, and the thiuram-based vulcanization accelerator being contained in an amount of 2.6 to 5.5 parts by mass based on 100 parts by mass of the rubber component.

In the run-flat tire, a vulcanized rubber of a rubber composition containing a rubber component and a vulcanization accelerator that contains tetrabenzylthiuramdisulfide is used for at least one member selected from the group consisting of a side-reinforcing rubber layer and a bead filler. In the vulcanized rubber of the run-flat tire, a proportion of monosulfide bonds and disulfide bonds in all sulfide bonds is 65% or more.
