Some high coordination compounds of thorium(IV) and dioxouranium(VI) derived from hydrazones of isonicotinic acid hydrazide

New complexes of thorium(IV) and dioxouranium(VI) have been synthesized by their action with hydrazones of isonicotinic acid hydroxide, namely (i) N-isonicotinamidobenzaldimine (INMB), (ii) N-isonicotinamidosalicylaldimine (INMS) and (iii) N-isonicotinamido 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine (INMHN) in different molar ratios. All these complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, solution studies, IR spectroscopic and thermogravimetric studies. X-ray powder diffraction studies of [Th(INMB)2Cl4] reveal that it belongs to a monoclinic crystal system, while [UO2(INMB)2(CH3COO)2] belongs to an orthorhombic crystal system.
