Enzymatic resolution of diethyl 3-hydroxycycloalkenyl phosphonates

Enantiomerically pure cyclic (S)-diethyl 3-hydroxy-1-alkenyl phosphonates 1-3 were obtained by enzymatic resolutions. The corresponding (R)-acetates were also obtained with high enantiomeric excess, except in the case of the five-membered ring compound. The most efficient enzyme (lipase Amano AK or Amano PS) in each case depends on the structure of the substrate (five to seven-membered ring compounds). (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
