  A piperidine derivative represented by the following general formula (I): wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; X represent -CH=CH-, -CH₂CH₂-, or -CH₂O-; Y represent an alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms which may be optionally substituted with a lower alkyl group, or Y represents an -A-O-B- group wherein A and B are the same or different and each independently represents and alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms which may be optionally substituted with a lower alkyl group is disclosed.
