  A series of furo [2, 3-b][1, 8] naphthyridine-3, 4 (2H, 9H)-dione and 4H-furo [2, 3-d] pyrido [1, 2-a] pyrimidine-3, 4 (2H)-dione derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for antiallergic activity by rat passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) screening.Most of these compounds were found to be orally active.Among them, 9-ethyl-7-methylfuro [2, 3-b][1, 8] naphthyridine-3, 4 (2H, 9H)-dione was the most promising, and was selected for further modifications.
