  Several benzylic copper reagents, BnCu(CN)MgCl, Bn2CuMgCl, BnCu-TMSCl-HMPA, and BnCu-TMSCl-TMEDA, facilitate the conjugate addition of the benzyl ligand to α,β-enones, but only BnCu-TMSCl-TMEDA gave high yields with α,β-unsaturated esters.
