  (EN) The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I), wherein the broken line represents a saturated or an olefinic bond, R1 and R4 are each hydrogen or C1 to C6 alkyl, and R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, C1 to C6 alkyl, halogen, C1 to C6 alkoxy or C1 to C6 alkylthio, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, pharmaceutical compounds countaining the same, methods of preparing the foregoing compounds, and to novel intermediates in the preparation of the foregoing compounds. These compounds are useful as agents in the prevention of neuronal damage in the brain following cerebral ischemia and during the progression of Alzheimer's disease and also as anticonvulsants.(FR) Composés de la formule (I) où la ligne interrompue représente une liaison saturée ou oléfine, R1 et R4 représentent chacun l'hydrogène ou l'acolyle C1 à C6, et R2 et R3 représentent chacun l'hydrogène, l'alcoyle C1 à C6, l'halogène, l'alcoxy C1 à C6 ou l'alcoylthio C1 à C6. L'invention se rapporte également à des sels de ces composés acceptables en pharmacologie, à des composés pharmaceutiques les contenant, aux procédés de préparation des composés précités, et à de nouveaux produits itermédiaires pour la préparation des composés précités. Ces composés sont utiles comme agents de prévention de la dégénérescence neuronale dans le cerveau à la suite de l'ischémie cérébrale et pendant la progression de la maladie d'Alzheimer, ainsi qu'en tant qu'anticonvulsifs.
