homegneous hydrogenation catalysts has been examined for the catlysis of olefinhydrosilation including RhCl(PPh3)3, RhCl(CO)(PPh3)2 and RhH(CO)(PPh3)3. The addition of phenyldimethylsilane to 2-pentene gave only n−pentyldimethylphenylsilane, although very little olefin isomerization accompanied additions to terminal olefins.

(I) complex [Re(CH3CN)3Br2(NO)] catalyzes the homogeneous hydrosilylation of a variety of substituted acrylonitriles, which were converted into the corresponding silyl-substituted alkanes with high regioselectivity of up to 94%. The products were analyzed by 1H NMR and GC–MS. A rhenium specific mechanism is proposed for the hydrosilylation of olefins.

trichlorosilane which afforded β-adduct with acrylonitrile. On the other hand, the hydrosilylation of α,β-unsaturated esters gave rather complex results. The selectivity of the reactions was dramatically affected by the substituent of the ester group and that on the β-carbon. Thus, the hydrosilylation of ethyl acrylate with triethylsilane afforded a β-adduct, but, that of ethyl crotonate using the same hydrosilane
Hydride transfer from a hydrosilane to a copper(I) salt is reported. The silicon group of hydrosilanes was smoothly replaced by copper(I) chloride in DMI to give the corresponding metal hydridecomplex of copper(I). This transformation was applied to conjugate reduction of α,β-unsaturated compounds with a hydrosilane mediated by copper(I) chloride.
