addition-elimination. One chlorination of 1-methyl-3H-heptafluoropyrrolidine gave, in addition to the products outlined above, a 2,2,3-trichloro-N-carbonyl chloride involving an unusual replacement of fluorine. Methanolysis of this carbonyl chloride gave dimethyl chlorotrifluorosuccinate.
