  Compounds having the formula wherein X is F, Cl, or Br; R is fluoralkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms and 1-9 fluorine atoms or CCl3; Y is H, F, Cl, Br, CH3, CF3, CCl3, or NO2; and Z is H, F, Cl, Br, CH3, CF3, or CCl3; with the proviso that when R is -CCl3, Y is H, F, Cl or Br and Z is H, may be used for the control of fungal disease of plants, for which purpose they may be formulated into fungicidal compositions in conventional manner. The compounds may be made by reacting a corresponding quinoxaline- sulfonyl chloride with a haloalcohol of the formula RCH2OH.
