Seventeen unsaturated hydroperoxides have been converted by treatment with mercury(II) acetate and/or mercury(II) nitrate into nineteen new mercuriated cyclic peroxides and by subsequent demercuriation with alkaline sodium borohydride, six new mercury-free peroxides have been isolated.
