  The Mannich condensation of amino acids with 3-phenoxychromones and polyhydroxy-α-phenoxyacetophenones has given a series of 8-carboxyalkylaminomethylchromones and 3-carboxymethylaminomethyl-2,4-dihydroxy-α-phenoxyacetophenones.
