Concentrated liquid fabric softening compositions containing a fabric substantive agent, selected from poly- ammonium and alkylpyridinium salts and mixtures thereof, in conjunction with a fabric softening component, selected from quaternary ammonium salts, alkylimidazolinium salts, fatty esters, fatty ethers, and fatty compounds containing a sulfur atom or nitrogen amide linking group and mixtures thereof, together with a liquid carrier. The weight of the fabric-substantive agent to the fabric-softening component is in the range from about 6:1 to about 1:4. The subject concentrated softener compositions are easily dispersible in aqueous medium and thus can evenly deposit onto fibers to thereby provide textile handling benefits inclusive of softening, static control, ease-of-ironing, fluffiness, pliability and smoothness.
A fabric softening composition comprises a water- insuble cationic fabric softener, a water-soluble cationic or nonionic surfactant and a hydrophobic adjunct which is either a non-cyclic hydrocarbon or a fatty acid ester of a monohydric alcohol. The composition is in the form of a dispersion of anisotropic softener phase in an isotropic aqueous surfactant solution phase. The composition has improved softening effectiveness combined with good phase stability and low viscosity.
Provided is a method for dyeing hair, the method including the steps of discharging a first agent and a second agent from the respective containers of an aerosol foam hair dye composed of a first agent and a second agent described below, applying the discharged agents to hair, and then refoaming the agents on the hair:
A first agent contained in a first aerosol container, including a first agent liquid concentrate containing components (A), (C) and (D), and a propellant:
(A) an alkali agent,
(C) a surfactant, and
(D) water; and
A second agent contained in a second aerosol container, including a second agent liquid concentrate containing components (B), (C) and (D), and a propellant:
(B) hydrogen peroxide,
(C) a surfactant, and
(D) water.
An aqueous conditioning composition comprising: (i) a water-insoluble, non-ester, quaternary ammonium fabric conditioning agent having at least 2 alkyl and/or alkenyl groups of at least 12 carbon atoms, or an alkyl or alkenyl group having a chain length of at least 20 carbon atoms. (ii) a water-soluble quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant and (iii) perfume, at least a portion of which is encapsulated. The composition is made by a specific process which comprises adding the encapsulated perfume to water prior to the addition of the water-insoluble quaternary ammonium fabric conditioning agent and adding the water-soluble quaternary ammonium cationic surfactant after the addition of the water-insoluble quaternary ammonium fabric conditioning agent and any free perfume and at a temperature below the phase transition temperature of the composition.
