  Reactions of substituted 5-dinitromethyl-3-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazoles with arylethenes of various nucleophilicity, number and position of substituents attached to the double bond give rise to nitroalkenes and secondary products resulting from alpha-nitroketones or nitroalcohols O-alkylation. The direction of transformations in the arising ion pair is governed predominantly by steric effects.
