A convenient method for the synthesis of quinoxalines catalysed by metalhydrogensulfates by the reaction of 1,2-diamino compounds and 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds in ethanol as solvent at roomtemperature is reported.

Quinoxalines are nitrogenous compounds that widely are used in various industries like paint, pharmaceutical and medicine. Quinoxaline ring is also part of antibiotics structure such as Actinomycin, Lomacin. By using of this synthesismethod of these compounds based on condensation of Aryl-1,2-di amine with 1,2-di carbonyl in the Acidic condition, some new compounds was obtained from Quinoxaline family
A green and efficient procedure for the synthesis of quinoxalines is reported starting from benzil and 1,2-diaminobenzene. The reactions were carried out under catalyst-free, solvent-free, and microwave-irradiation conditions, affording the corresponding quinoxalines. This method had many dramatic advantages, such as the short reaction time (2-6min), high yields (71-98%), and environmental friendliness, as well as convenient operation.
