The infra-redspectra of solid Cu(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Fe(II), Ni(II) and Ag(I) complexes of riboflavin and the Cu(II) complexes of 6,7-dimethylalloxazine (lumichrome) and 2,4-dihydroxypteridine have been examined. The spectra indicate dipolar-ion chelates involving the 4-carbonyl group of riboflavin are formed with the divalent metals in the solid state.
