analysis clearly shows that variance in the spacer functional group has a major impact on density, conformational preference, coordination environment and geometric modes. Furthermore, inter- and intramolecularinteractions in crystal packing also influence the defining parameters of conformation, leading to better aromatic-involved interactions both energetically and geometrically.

Seven nicotinic acid amides were synthesized by condensation of nicotinic acid adsorbed on silica gel with different aromatic amines. The synthesized compounds were characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR and IR spectroscopy and screened for their nematicidal activity against root knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita by egg hatching and mortality test. All compounds exhibited significant nematicidal potential as compared to control. Maximum egg hatching inhibition potential was exhibited by N-(4-bromophenyl)nicotinamide while N-(2,4,5-trichlorophenyl)nicotinamide showed the maximum mortality potential.

The first nickel‐catalyzed N‐arylation of amides with (hetero)aryl (pseudo)halides is reported, enabled by use of the air‐stable pre‐catalyst (PAd‐DalPhos)Ni(o‐tolyl)Cl (C1). A range of structurally diverse primary amides and lactams were cross‐coupled successfully with activated (hetero)aryl chloride, bromide, triflate, tosylate, mesylate, and sulfamate electrophiles.
