The Schiff base derived from the condensation of o-aminophenol with benzaldehydes was induced to undergo oxidative cyclization in the presence of DDQ. Niobium-based chiral Lewis acid was found to be highly effective catalyst for aza-Diels–Alderreactions of imines with Danishefsky‘s dienes.
