The reaction of hydrophosphoryl compounds with aldimines and ketimines in the presence of catalytic amounts of cadmium iodide was investigated. A simple preparative method for the synthesis of alpha-aminophosphonates, phosphinates, and tertiary phosphine oxides was developed.
