The reaction of tetrafluorohydrazine with acetylenes in inert solvent gives α,α-(fluorodifluoramino)fluorimines via unstable bis(difluoramino)- ethylenes. Under solvolytic conditions the rearrangement involves Sn1 cleavage of the NF bond and the formation of a mesomeric nitrogen-carbon cation.
