The first Re-catalyzed [4 + 1] annulation of azobenzenes with aldehydes was developed to furnish 2H-indazoles via isolable and characterized cyclic ReI-complexes. For the first time, the acetate-acceleration effect is showcased in Re-catalyzed C–H activation reactions. Remarkably, mechanistic studies revealed an irreversible aldehyde-insertion step, which is in sharp contrast to those of previous Rh-

The first C–H aminocarbonylation of azobenzenes with isocyanates is achieved by using rhenium-catalysis, which provides an atom-economical access to o-azobenzamides.
A photochromic latex ink includes an organic polymer; optionally a colorant, and a photochromic compound. The photochromic ink composition has an average particle size from about 20 nm to about 600 nm. The photochromic ink composition is capable of reversibly converting from a first color to a second color in response to a predetermined wavelength scope.
An ink set is made up of at least three differently colored phase change inks, for example cyan, magenta and yellow, wherein at least one of the colored phase change inks is a photochromic ink that contains a photochromic material. Upon exposure to activating radiation such as ultraviolet light, the at least one photochromic ink changes to a color different from the color of the photochromic ink prior to exposure to the activating radiation.
