  The invention relates to a novel chemical route to 3,4-diaryl-4,5-dihydro-(1H)-pyrazole-1-carbox-amidine derivatives, known as potent cannabinoid-CB 1 receptor antagonists, and to novel intermediates of these compounds. The synthetic route produced considerably higher yields than those reported, without the use of corrosive reagents.
