The hydrosilation reaction has been utilized for the synthesis of silicon heterocyclic compounds. The effect of n upon the ease of ring formation from compounds of the formula CH2CH(CH2)nSiMe2H (n = 0–6) has been investigated with chloroplatinic acid as a catalyst.
