  (EN) Significant concentrations of naphthalene were detected in carton nests of Formosan subterranean termites, $i(Coptotermes formosanus) Shiraki, collected from Florida, Hawaii, and Louisiana. This is the first report of naphthalene being associated with termites or any other insects. Naphthalene and other compounds associated with termite carton nests may be used to increase termite bait acceptance. New attractant molecules include 2-phenoxyethanol. New feeding stimulants include ergosterol. A list of volatile compounds associated with termite nests is presented, compounds that may be used to detect termite nests.(FR) On a détecté des concentrations significatives de naphtalène dans les nids en carton des coptorems de Formose, $i(Coptorems formosanus) Shiraki, recueillis en Floride, à Hawaï et en Louisiane. C'est la première fois qu'il est fait état de l'association du naphtalène avec des termites ou éventuellement d'autres insectes. Le naphtalène ainsi que d'autres composés associés aux nids en carton des termites peuvent être utilisés afin d'augmenter l'attraction des termites par un appât. On peut citer à titre de nouvelles molécules attractives le 2-phénoxyéthanol. On peut citer à titre de nouveaux stimulants d'alimentation l'ergostérol. Une liste de composés volatiles associés aux nids des termites est présentée, ainsi que des composés pouvant être utilisés afin de détecter les nids de termites.
