  the second phase the formation of a dioxetane is postulated as the immediate precursor in the light giving step. The autoxidative chemiluminescence appeared to be a general feature of 8-substituted pteridines bearing a Me group at the 7-position. The chemiluminescence spectra and their quantum yields were determined.
