novel halogen exchange reaction was found to accompany condensation of an acyl chloride with N-bis(2-bromoethyl)amine. Reaction between an acyl bromide and N-bis(2-bromoethyl)amine, however, gave the expected N-bis(2-bromoethyl)amide.
