OLED材料作为OLED技术的基础和重要核心,在这一领域中占据着举足轻重的地位。研究人员和应用厂商一直在追求更高发光寿命、量子效率以及更低成本,并希望找到更适合工业化应用的OLED材料。
有机发光二极管显示器,又称有机电致发光显示器或有机发光显示器(简称OLED),是一种利用载流子在电场作用下由正负电极进入有机固体层复合发光的现象制成的显示器件。过去10多年里,OLED技术取得了显著进展,从最初的5厘米产品到如今最大尺寸达到107厘米的样品相继问世。
相较于LCD,OLED拥有全固态、自发光、宽视角、高清晰度、高亮度、高对比度、快速响应、超薄设计、低成本、低功耗、耐低温、抗震性能以及可实现柔软显示和双面显示等诸多优点,被视为最理想且最具潜力的下一代平板显示技术。
OLED根据所使用的有机发光材料不同可分为两大类:一类是基于小分子有机发光材料的小分子OLED;另一类则是基于共轭高分子有机发光材料的高分子OLED(简称PLED)。美国柯达和英国剑桥显示器科技公司(CDT)分别是这两个领域的佼佼者。
在制备技术方面,小分子OLED主要采用真空蒸镀方法,这一技术已相当成熟。而PLED则多使用旋涂、喷墨印刷等技术。尽管这些制备技术有可能大幅降低器件的生产成本,但目前技术还不够完善。
