  The subject of the present application is a process for the treatment of keratinous material, in particular human hair, wherein a cosmetic agent is applied to the keratinous material and rinsed off again after a contact time, exemplified in that the cosmetic agent contains a mixture of organic C 1 -C 6 alkoxy siloxanes which is obtained by mixing one or more organic C 1 -C 6 alkoxysilanes with a solvent other than water and selectively hydrolyzing and precondensing the mixture by adding water and catalyst.
