Disclosed is a ionic elastomeric adduct useful as an impact modifier for nylon, said adduct containing carboxylic groups, i.e., a neutralized sulfonated copolymer of ethylene, and alphaolefin having from 3 to 10 carbon atoms, and a copolymerizable non-conjugated diene, said adduct having succinic acid groups attached thereto, the sulfonic acid content being from 1 to 30 milliequivalents per 100 grams, and the carboxylic content calculated as maleic anhydride being from 0.1 to 10% based on the total weight of the elastomer.
