    Reaction of copper(I) halides with lithium amides leads to the formation of thermally stable tetrameric amido derivatives of copper(I), [Cu(NRR′)}4][NRR′= NMe2, (1); [graphic omitted]H2, (2); MeNCH2CH2NMe2, (3); N (CH2CH2NEt2)2, (4)].     complexes of titanium (III) and vanadium(III) stabilized by a chelating terdentate amido ligand have been prepared, providing access to the study of a rare class of compounds; the crystal structure of the aryl vanadium(III) derivative has also been determined. In addition, preliminary studies indicate that chromium(III) behaves in a different manner when forming complexes with this ligand.
