  Asymmetric polyfluorinated ketones R(F)COR are formed by treating various derivatives of (polyfluoro)alkanoic acids (esters, anhydrides, acid chlorides) with lithium tetraalkylaluminates (''ate-complexes''). The highest yields of the ketones (65-78 %) were obtained from (polyfluoro)alkanoyl chlorides.
