[6 + 2] Cycloadditions between cycloheptatrienes with allenes have been investigated. Cobalt salts were found to promote this transformation efficiently. Moreover, this reaction was found to be highlyselective since only one regioisomer was obtained with an excellent E/Z-selectivity.

This method accommodates different functional groups such as hydroxy or carbonyl, and it also performed well in the synthesis of allenylamides and 2,3-butadien-1-ol.

All(enes) great! A novel RhIII‐catalyzed oxidative coupling with allenes under mild conditions provides heterocycles with exocyclic double bonds. This reaction features low catalyst loadings, high regio‐ and stereoselectivity, and excellent substrate scope. The products were derivatized and preliminary mechanistic studies were conducted.
