Palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, nickel, and molybdenum complexes were found to be active catalysts. The rhodium catalyst showed a different regioselectivity from the other catalysts, the reaction can proceed without allylic rearrangement. In the absence of nucleophiles, allyl alkyl carbonates were converted into
