LiAl(OCEt3)3Cl(THF)2 has been obtained by the reaction of LiAI(OCEt3)3H with YCl3 and characterized by X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes from hexanes in the space group P2(1)/c with a = 16.49(3), b = 10.65(1), c = 20.05(3) angstrom, beta = 106.97(11)-degrees, V = 3367(7) angstrom3 and D(calc) = 1.10 Mg m-3 for Z = 4. Least squares refinement of the model based on 2910 reflections (\F(o)\ > 0) converged to a final R(F) = 5.5%. The aluminum atom is ligated by a terminal chloride and a terminal OCEt3 group and is connected to the Li(THF)2 moiety by two bridging OCEt3 ligands.
