A novel six-membered heterocycle with B, Ga, N, and P heteroatoms, Me2Me2, is synthesized from a lithiated borane base. Its reaction with anhydrous acids leads to GaMe bond cleavage and formation of monosubstituted derivatives. A similar derivative chemistry pertains for the analogous heterocycle, Me2Me2.
