Germanium in various forms is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and excreted in the urine (68%) and the feces (9.7%) within 24 hours of administration. It is fairly equally distributed between plasma and red blood cells but is not bound to plasma proteins. Germanium may be transported in the blood, unbound to protein, since it leaves the bloodstream in a few hours. It is widely distributed in body tissue and not selectively retained by any single tissue. Often, within a week it has even disappeared from the tissues in which it was detected. /Germanium/

    摘要:
    The mechanisms of thermal and photochemical transformations of organic and organometallic compounds which pass through formation of different reactive intermediates were investigated by low-temperature matrix IR spectroscopy. Low-temperature matrix stabilization of the intermediates, the primary products of these reactions, was conducted at 10-15 K. The spectral and structural parameters of the free radicals (CCl3, CCl2Br, CClBr2, CH2CH=CH2, CF2CF=CF2, CH2-C=CH, CH2C=N, CH2Ph, CF2C6F5), halocarbenes and their silicon and germanium analogs, and unstable molecules with double-bond silicon and germanium atoms were obtained as a result.

    Dimethylgermathione, Me2GeS (D1), has been studied by vacuum pyrolysis-MS and matrix isolation IR spectroscopy. The germathione D1 was generated in the gas phase by pyrolytic decomposition (730–900°C, 10−2 −10−3 Torr) of the trimer (Me2GeS)3 (D3) in a quartz pyrolyzer, coupled to the ionization chamber of mass spectrometer or to an optical helium cryostat, where pyrolysis products have been frozen
