  Oxidation-reduction reactions of the hexafluorides of the third row transition metals rhenium, osmium and iridium with a selected series of reductants have been studied. The results have shown that oxidant strength increases progressively from rhenium hexafluoride to iridium hexafluoride. The results of this study have also been correlated with those of previous investigations in this series, and with
